    this sums up the humor regarding funny signs. What was intended was the door was only to be used as a fire escape in the event of the building catching fire, but as worded means either only to be used if the door is on fire, or by a person on fire

    You may use this door if you are walking on hot coals at the time. However, you must spread the burning coals through the doorway in order to then be allowed to proceed through that doorway yourself. Of course.
